Liquid silicone rubber is relative to the mixing type semi-solid silicone rubber and common room temperature vulcanization of one-component silicone in terms of a class of organic silicone, which is a liquid rubber, this kind of rubber has a good sulfur mobility, vulcanization fast, can be cast molding can be injection molding. Liquid silicone rubber is divided into additive molding liquid silicone and condensation model liquid silicone. People familiar with the silicone industry know that these two kinds of rubber are two-component silicone, then what is the difference between them?
1. add molding liquid silicone: add molding liquid silicone is a vinyl-containing poly silicone as the basis of polymer, add molding silicone vulcanization of the rubber material before the viscosity is low, easy to perfusion, vulcanization, no exothermic, no low molecular by-products released, shrinkage rate is small, can be deep vulcanization, easy to operate. After vulcanization, it becomes a soft and transparent or translucent elastomer, which can keep elasticity for a long time in the temperature range of -50℃-200℃. Plus molding liquid silicone is a higher grade of silicone rubber in a class of varieties, with advantages such as vulcanization, sealing at high temperatures is also better than the shrinkage type. With excellent electrical properties and chemical stability, water resistance, ozone resistance, irradiation resistance, weather aging, water-repellent, moisture-proof, shock-proof, good low compression deformation, low combustibility; with physiological properties, non-toxic, tasteless, and vulcanization speed can be used to control the temperature very smoothly and other advantages.
2. Condensed liquid silica gel: condensed liquid silica gel vulcanization reaction needs to meet the two conditions, the need for moisture in the air and the quasi-chemical agent to promote the development of the reaction. Usually the rubber and catalyst are packed as a component separately. Curing begins to occur only when the two components are completely mixed together. The curing time of two-component condensation room temperature vulcanized silica gel depends mainly on the type and amount of catalyst and the temperature. The greater the amount of catalyst, the faster the cure and the shorter the set-up time. Condensed liquid silicone can be cured at room temperature (25°C) and can be elastomerized in 8 to 24 hours. The amount of curing agent can be increased to speed up the process. The increase or decrease of curing agent as well as the temperature and temperature are the factors affecting the curing speed.
Addition molding liquid silicone: has excellent electrical properties and chemical stability, water resistance, ozone resistance, irradiation resistance, weather aging resistance, water repellent, moisture-proof, shock-proof, good low compression deformation, low combustibility; physiological inertia, non-toxic, tasteless, and vulcanization speed can be smoothly controlled by the temperature and other advantages.

Additive silicone is more environmentally friendly than condensation silicone, and can be used for food-grade silicone mold making while having a low shrinkage rate.
